Meet the Team - Ameena Raziq

We’re excited to introduce Ameena Raziq, who joins the Connect2Hackney team as a Customer Service & Resourcing Assistant. With a background in both recruitment and retail, Ameena brings a people-first approach and a hunger to learn. We sat down with her to find out more about her journey so far.

1. Tell us about your working background.
I’ve worked in both recruitment and retail. Most recently, I was a Recruitment Consultant within the education sector, helping teachers looking to teach abroad.

2. What is your role at Connect2Hackney?
I’m a Customer Service and Resourcing Assistant.

3. What do you like about working in the recruitment industry?
I like that no two conversations are ever the same – whether I’m speaking with clients or consultants, there’s always variety.

4. What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I’m looking forward to learning new things. I’ve joined a new company and I’m working with a new system, so it’s an exciting and different experience for me.

5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love baking and doing makeup, and I enjoy going out to try new food and visit new places.

6. Any top tips for jobseekers?
Don’t give up – keep applying! And always be honest when you’re applying for jobs – it really helps in the long run.
