Meet the Team - Daryl Goldie

We’re thrilled to introduce another fantastic addition to the Connect2Hackney team – Daryl Goldie, who joins us as a Talent Partner. Born and raised in Hackney, Daryl brings a wealth of experience and a real passion for making a local impact. We caught up with him to learn more about his journey and what he’s most excited about in his new role.

1. Tell us about your working background.
I’ve been in recruitment for the past 10 years. I spent the last seven years working in education recruitment, supporting secondary schools, and before that, I did three years in health and social care recruitment.
Before moving into recruitment, I worked in retail for eight years. I started off at Orange and was part of the transition when it became EE.

2. What is your role at Connect2Hackney?
I’m a Talent Partner, working on the BOA desk.

3. What do you like about working in the recruitment industry?
No two days are ever the same – there’s always something to do. I really enjoy connecting with people and learning their stories. The most rewarding part is definitely the feedback from candidates and clients after a successful placement.

4. What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and supporting my local borough with its recruitment needs. Being able to give back to the area where I was born and raised is incredibly important to me – and in the long run, I’m excited about helping the council save on agency spend.

5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love spending time with friends and family, making music, and playing on my PS5. But above all, I enjoy hanging out with Zeus - my French Bulldog - who turns five in August!

6. Any top tips for jobseekers?
Stay updated! The job market is always changing, so it’s important to keep your skills fresh. Take online courses, attend webinars, and get certified to stay current and competitive.
