Meet the Team - Harry Coffey

We’re proud to welcome Harry Coffey to the Connect2Hackney team! With over a decade of experience in recruitment and a truly global outlook, Harry brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to building genuine, long-lasting relationships. As he settles into his new role focusing on interim and professional recruitment, we caught up with him to learn more about his journey so far.

1. Tell us about your working background.
I’ve spent the past 11.5 years in recruitment, starting out in education – specifically within special educational needs. In early 2022, I was approached to relocate to Australia, where I began recruiting in the digital marketing and eCommerce space.

It was an incredible experience working with some of Australia’s and the world’s most well-known brands. After two years, my family and I returned to the UK and I launched my own talent acquisition and lead generation agency. Over the past year, I’ve mainly recruited into the creative sector, including film, advertising and branding.

2. What is your role at Connect2Hackney?
I recruit for Interim and Professional roles across the Borough of Hackney.

3. What do you like about working in the recruitment industry?
I really value the long-lasting relationships you can build with clients and candidates – but above all, it’s knowing that you’ve placed someone who will go on to make a real, positive impact in their industry.

4. What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I’m excited to build and grow relationships across the borough, while offering a genuine and ethical solution to both financial and staffing challenges.

Even in the few meetings I’ve had so far, the joy, relief and excitement from clients about what we’re doing has been brilliant. Everyone sees the value in Connect2’s mission – and that’s what fulfils me: knowing I’m delivering a service that’s truly appreciated.

5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I’ve played drums in various bands for over 20 years and still enjoy a good 11-a-side football match. But most of all, I love spending time with my wife and three children.

6. Any top tips for jobseekers?
Stay persistent and try not to let rejection knock your confidence. Job hunting can be tough at times, so keep developing your skills, maintain open communication and take feedback on board wherever possible.
