Children's Social Worker - Disabled Children's Service

Hackney Council is seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker to join the Disabled Children's Service on a locum basis. You will be supporting children and young people with disabilities and their families through high‑quality, relationship‑based practice.
You will have access to supportive management and a multidisciplinary team and a real opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
The Role
You will manage a varied and manageable caseload, carrying out holistic assessments, safeguarding work and delivering focused interventions. Working within statutory frameworks, you'll develop care plans, lead Child Protection processes where required, and work closely with families to promote positive outcomes. Multi‑agency collaboration is central to the role.
About You
- You will be a qualified and SWE registered Social Worker
- Have 3 years perm experience within a english LA (DFE)
- Experience in children's social care specifically Children with Disabilities
- Strong assessment, safeguarding and report‑writing skills
- Commitment to anti‑racist, child‑focused practice
- Ability to build effective relationships with families and partner agencies
- Confidence managing your own workload within statutory timescales
